In search of the best beans, Xavier Rombouts recently travelled to Cuba, where coffee culture is an integral part of this beautiful island; rich in flavours and history. Coffee plants were originally brought here by French settlers in the late eighteenth century.
Xavier visited one of Cuba’s original coffee farms; hacienda Fraternidad, in South East Cuba, known locally as 'the house' or 'the red house' for the characteristic red colour of its original roof.
This coffee farm has been completely renovated as part of an international project, with help from the Rombouts-Malongo Foundation, and will become "a living museum of coffee.” Rombouts is proud to be part of the conservation of this exceptional coffee heritage.
